Hello, I am Cynthia Patterson.
You can just call me Cindy! Thank you for visiting my site and sharing my vision.
Photography became a serious pastime for me many years ago while shooting reference photos of local barns for my watercolors. I quickly found that I enjoyed taking photos more than painting! I had always taken pictures of family, friends and flowers, but it was at that point I knew photography would be my focus.
I grew up here in Central Illinois, where I have lived my entire life. I have a deep appreciation for the Midwestern culture and a passion for wildlife and nature. I share my life and love with Jim, my husband and wildlife spotter, and my son Sean.
I am a National Park enthusiast and have a lifetime quest to visit all of the United States National Parks. My first visit to a National Park at the age of six made an enormous impression on my soul and I have thrilled at each one ever since.
I bought a Canon EOS/Elan SLR in 1993 and have been a Canon lover ever since. In 2003 I went digital with a 300D, which I eventually gave to my son and now shoot a 50D and a Canon 5D. As a professional graphic designer, my transition to the digital darkroom was swift, since I had been using Photoshop for years. In my professional life, I do a bit of event photography and capture the local business scene for the web and to support my design work. I have won several local awards and my photography has been published in a variety of media.
You will find my photography to be quite an eclectic mix of interests. I encourage you to check back often. Please send me an email via the contact form below with any questions that you might have. Thank you for your visit!
